Hi Guys
Been to seen my friendly aircraft man today, to pick up ACF50. Which I get for various people. I buy the litre container with a applicator i.e. you pour the liquid into the applicator, then pump to pressurise the applicator and then its ready to spray. The tech's prefer to use this method rather than an airosol. The guy charges me £26.00.
Before I left he insisted I take and try a can of Plexus plastic cleaner, it would appear this stuff is taking off big style in the aircraft industry as well as being general purpose cleaner www.PlexusPlasticCleaner.com for more info.
As I have got a discrete yellow and matt black GS12 and this week end I am going camping at Swallow Falls North Wales with the pipes and slippers club. I've sprayed, cleaned and polished in one go just one side of the bike. I am going to be on wet muddy roads and then coming back through the car wash (ford) just outside Llangollen. So I will let you know next week how it cleaned off and what the protection was like, but I must admit it was a doddle to apply and came up very clean.

ACF-50

Just got hold of some ACF-50.

Is there anywhere on my bike that I should not spray it?

Cheers
Mark

I've found that the ACF 50 attracts dirt and ends up in an oliy/muddy concoction all over the parts applied ....

Anywhere you would not want oil. Avoid the brakes and disks and watch out for the alternator belt if you spray under the tank. The exhaust manifold might stain if you over do it as it burns the stuff off.;)

I find it seems to wash off really easily compared with untreated surfaces.

Don't even put it near the brakes. WD40, which I've used for years - a bit of overspray around the brakes = fine, it burns off, and not to bad (i.e., the brakes still work albeit slowly). Same with wax and whatever...

ACF50 - get it on the pads and you're in for a shock = no braking. No getting off either. When they say this stuff lasts " two years active" they really mean it. Not sure of any solvent that completly removes it.

Great stuff ACF50 is - just don't spray it on, but get a rag and wipe if on instead.

My two (hard learned) cents!

ACF 50

Does this atract dirt and leave a mess as I would like to use some on the rims?

cheers
