After a testride I think the 1250 is still better than the 1300GS

Wish I knew how to post some pictures somebody send me from my phone...Looks like a M1300GS with forged wheels , triple shift cam and Akrapovic underseat exhaust...Yummy ! Sorry to post that here but I am locked out of the 1300GS section for whatever reason...LOL

I actually was on a mountain road…Otherwise tank range would have probably been 20mpg or roughly 100 mile range…😑And yes unfortunately there is still lots left to be desired on the new 1300GS..Unfortunately ! Of course a S1000XR would tick all the boxes but I am done fiddling with chains, love Telelever and like the fact that the boxer keeps your legs protected…Would hate to give this up and hoped the new GS would approach the performance of the XR…And watch the videos and you can clearly see the GS is a comfortable sportbike…🤣As far as the 911 GT3 making a tad over 500 hp at 8500 rpm that would translate to 167 hp and about the same nm of torque from a 1350 cc or 1400 cc boxer…👍BMW is close but still no cigar 😉
you really are a complete and total fuckwitted buffoon

I take that as a compliment...LOL But it looks even BMW sees the light as 3 versions / flavors of GS are coming ; M1300GS street oriented with 155 hp triple shift cam boxer and Akrapovic underseat exhaust like last seen on the R1200S...Awesome !!! R1400GS massive big touring ADV bike with Huge tank-RANGE...!! R1200GS air-oil cooled Enduro bike truly off road capable...The Anti-Urban GS...LOL ! I even like the new R20 2000cc BIG Boxer , especially the BMW looking tank but unfortunately its missing one ingredient; With TELELEVER it would have the chance to ride as good as it looks...No Telelever / no sale...But the Hipsters will love looking at the Upside down fork at Starbucks as much as the GS crowd at their knobbies as much as the knobs of the clientele...LOL

Interesting video ! 137 mph for a 1250 ADV vs 139 mph I got out of a regular 1300 are really negatable "improvements"....Let me reiterate...All the 1250 needed was 4 liters bigger not 2 liters smaller tank ! Lets say 30 hp via 1500 rpm rev range up on top like making top end power at 9500 rpm with a smooth 500 rpm overrev into the limiter unlike a KTM that hits a wall at top rpm...And a frame that does not wobble above 125mph with bags/top case attached...So BMW stroke the 1300 from 73 to 80 mm for a full 1400 cc to be able to pull the taller gearing.Raise the rpm limit by 1500-2000 rpm instead of a abrupt shut off at or before 8000 rpm.DE-link the foot brake And get the tank up to 24 liters...19 are too small and the ADV is too big unless you really to remote areas...M1400GS ! Saw these nice pictures on beemer wizzard of a 1300 GS with forged wheels and a Akrapovic underseat exhaust...Hope this will be the new M variant of the GS...

not ridden a KTM with the new cam shift engine then

Not ridden the new 1390 Superduke yet but read a article that is is nothing faster than the 1290 and steers even slower...AS the 1290 was already a unrideable beast aka wheelymachine in the first 3 gears...Ready to Race ? Not ! Zero to 200 km/h 1290/1390 Superduke 8,4 seconds while a M1000XR needs a whole second less...!SAme roll on 50-150 the M1000XR is a full second faster than the supposedly big torquey twin with 1350 vs 1000 cc...Even the weak 1300GS was half a second faster than the 1390 KTM while the 1250 GS is aven a cunthair faster than the 1300 GS here in top gear roll-on...Bring on the M1400GS !

That thing is F-A-S-T , handles & is all day comfortable...But as always BMW finds a way to eff it up by leaving hardbags & centerstand off the options list...Otherwise this stallion would grace my stable...LOL

We need something close to this with Boxer-Telelever-Shaftdrive and a full options list...Come on BMW we know you can do it !

Here the KTM just to make my point...Despite Huge umbers slow as molasses and basically unrideable between all or nothing Torque, windblast and constant headshake...Easy kills even on a GS these ready to race or better to crash KTMs...LOL

Still waiting to finally ride the 1300GS with bags/top case to see if they at least cured the high-speed wobble...Stay tuned...LOL

The 1300 is just "Not a GS". There is so much I don't like about it. A great bike on paper. But totally missed the point. Fortnine did a great review which sums up my feelings.
I much prefer the 1250GS. Then again, when I go out on a 1200LC I really like how smooth, light and quiet it is next to the rattley 1250. If I were buying a BMW this year, I'd be looking for a 2015/2016 1200LC.

But then again, when I go out on a 1200 Twin cam, I really like that too. Shame it's so heavy compared to the LC. Because the motor is an absolute peach. And it feels like a GS !!

I owned many a push rod 1200 hex head. I don't miss them really. They do a job. But their time is over.

The 1150 feels nostalgic now. Slow, heavy but still capable.

The 1100 is just the dog in the corner.

Maybe I'm ready for an airhead. Or even a K75 !!

I think you'd prefer a horse.

I hear what you say as the 1300 did not get my juices flowing either…Lack of sound , bottom end torque and it should rev another 1000 rpm on top instead of shutting off at 8000 like a government worker at 16:30…As for the 1200 LC or AC I much prefer the 1250 for Torque and less mechanical noise and the K75 was probably the worst bike BMW ever made before the R18 came out…LOL

have you ridden one ??

I can say for certain that it isnt as slow as molasses and will muller any GS on any bit of tarmac you care to choose

and it isnt dull as ditchwater - it makes you smile

the fuelling on the 1390 is as good if not better than any bike I have ever ridden the torque curve is so linear as to be almost as if you drew the thing as a perfect curve, tractable in any gear

Of course I accept that there is the wind but thats a good thing, you feel the speed

probably too much bike for you which is why you cant bear the thought of it
