Getting tempted to buy my old one back.
I found the same initially with the suspension, I made some tweaks based on a thread on Guzzitech and ended up with this
I’m about 120kg in full gear
Front preload (turns from open) set to 10.
Front rebound (clicks from fully closed) set to 8.
Rear preload (turns from open) set to 17.
Rear rebound (turns from closed ) set to 1.
It made a difference, but not as much as getting some miles on it, at just over 5.4K miles now the suspension has settled significantly.
I’m going to take mine to Kai’s for a suspension sweep and let the experts have a play now I’ve got some miles on it, my mate, also of this parish took his Africa Twin and they set it up for his weight and was surprised at just how good the results were.
It’s £60 for the ride in / ride out service so probably money well spent.
I had the same on my Mandello with the standard suspension (don't know if it is the same rear shock as the Stelvio)I took it to FTR Suspension who set it up for me and it took a lot of the harshness out.I still might get a YSS shock for it next year.

Noted the final drive unit has redundant mounts on it that look like it was designed to take a BMW GS style rear wheel guard
I really don't care for the looks of those GS type rear guards but I'll probably put one on if one's available. Where I'm getting road spray is past the narrow section from the license plate up.
I had a 2016 R1200RS that must have had the same mud guard designer, it looked like two thin sticks which extended out to hold the plate but did nothing to block road spray.
Those are for the final drive protector Neil, I've got one on order myself as they are a reasonable price.

Out today and did 100 miles on the bike picking some quick but often poorly surfaced roads, bike was very good with the suspension settings recommended .
Aftermarket heated grips are better than the standard ones on my r1250gsa but my god the heated seat is vicious, a bum burner on setting number 2 , number 3 was tried but unbearable .

PIcked up a high seat today ,better for me as I have a 33 inch inside leg and it will give me a bit more room
I found the rear suspension to be pretty harsh but if finally settled down after 4-5,000 miles and is fine now.
LOL yeah I have the taller seat which includes heat and I found it became too hot on setting 1 and that was with me wearing insulated pants and a 1-piece Roadcrafter suit! Ergos are now about perfect for me with the additional seat height along with SW Motec pegs which are slightly lower and larger.
I would never take any of his reviews as a recommendationThe Missenden Flyer has just tested a Stelvio. He quite liked it and didn't really find fault... He can usually finds something to moan about.

I will be doing c.600 miles on one next week so I’ll see how that goes.

Did 1600 miles in Ireland last year. No problem. I since bought the "comfort seat" which is way better than standard
I wouldn't have swapped the Stelvio for anything else on that trip, it was the perfect bike for the WAW....

Genuine question - how many miles have you on the Stelvio and how much garage attention has it needed?
I really fancy buying one myself but we don’t have an official dealer in the North.

It's now just coming up 8000 miles since I collected it in May '24.
It's had.........
Nothing
Just the service at 600 miles, and 4k miles. No extra attention at all
Much better than my GS!!!!!

Mmm. Very interesting. I bought 13gs because of the !quality’ of the brand. First one was rejected due to multiple issues and ultimately having to be recovered from France. Second one has just had all the suspension replaced. Reliability of an MG was my concern….but noting your comment and my experience, the Stelvio is looking very attractive especially at slightly used values.My dealer is Jim Allen, he's excellent

A few other Stelvio and Mandello owners on here. Mostly happy owners I believe. I'm sure you'll get more affirmations of quality and reliability....
