I think you are all being a tad harsh on this daffodil picking fairy boy.

Water applied at 30-50 mph on a B road - 3rd-4th gear is best I find....

This is a wind up right! Please don't let it be a serious complaint.
If it is for real then the OP needs to give BMW a call and ask them to take the bike back as clearly he is only suited to four wheel transport. It's a rufty, tufty dual purpose adventure bike, designed to take you all over world over all terrains and you complain that it gets dirty FFS! Get real. Did you come to a GS from sportsbikes? If so maybe you should go back to your comfort zone of being a Summer rider only doing just 1500-2000 miles a year.. I know we have had some pretty pathetic whines and gripes from the 1200 toilet section in the past but this one beats them all.
Some people have probably worked hard and earned enough money to buy an expensive bike so want to look after it, others like to have some pride in ownership so like to have a clean bike. He didn't mention that he doesn't get it dirty just that with all the pipework and openness it seems to get dirty quickly. Just because you want to ride around on a bike looking like Ewans cast off doesn't mean everybody does. People have range rovers but like them to look clean occasionally, doesn't mean that they should only drive MX5's. Not sure if you realise but some people have bought GS's (or any adventure type bike) because they want to not because they have a trip to the other side of the world (or think they should)

Nothing wrong with getting it dirty. Somehow the dirt on a GSA suits it. Just look at Bilco's photos, it just looks right. But when I park it at home then I like to have a clean bike in the garage. You don't walk through the house with muddy boots therefore a clean bike in the garage. It might be necessary to invest in some descent cleaning equipment given the ability of the GS/GSA to attract mud and muck in the most inaccessible places. To take care of the corroding panniers I have given them a coat of plastidip and the inward facing panels is now coated in Dynac UC. Brilliant stuff and the GSA got a treatment at the same time. With the corrosion worries put at ease and an arsenal of cleaning kit (newly acquired Karcher K2 as recommended by Nuttys' frugal missus) I can relax in the knowledge that I keep the bike in good condition for me to enjoy. If only I knew how to use it all
If I only do 2k miles a year that leaves plenty of time to clean it
