That's higher gearing.

The devil is always in the detail..... And been known for years

That's higher gearing.

....however, the only negative I can identify with is the instrument panel - the analogue is too small and I only use the digital speedo...and there is way too much pointless info that can be displayed.
I'm not sure that I get that, at least the numbers etc are big enough for my old eyes to read! I couldn't read the digi-clock on my previous Explorer. Suggest don't scroll thro it, then you won't have to read all of the stuff
, so I find the digital readout much easier to read quickly.

On the initial test ride I had the same thoughts (by which I am assuming you mean that the new bike's gearing is too Low) so I called into a friend who has a 2009 model and we went for a quick spin to compare directly. What we found surprised me insofar as the new bike was travelling slightly faster in 6th compared to the 2009 model at the same rev's which would suggest that the new bike is, if anything, slightly higher geared than the old one. I'm assuming it's the increased power and torque that makes it feel livlier and therefore lower geared.
- Gear ratios - as previously reported they are just too close with 5 & 6 gearing being too high. I found myself in 6th far more often than the GSA which I only really use for high speed motorway work.

I seem to get a few vibs at about 5000rpm, which is about 80mph in top gear. Slightly annoying. But I can live with it as I love most everything else about it.
They all seem to like your report, ? wonder if that's because it contains only what they want to hear ?![]()

Exactly
"And what is it with all these people doing test reports? It's like they want to be involved in some sort of "pageant""
Err.. I think you have stumbled across a site designed for enthusiasts who ride BMWs.![]()
There will always be someone who feels embittered that they no longer ride "the best" bike of it's type in the world.
What most intelligent people see as progress will always be frowned upon by some Ludites - particularly those in possession of the redundant technology.
They like to read criticisms of the new version so that they can justify to themselves that their old version is still the best in at least some respects. When they come across an all praising report, however honestly written, it is preferable to dismiss it with contempt. Simples![]()
