Just spoke to my local dealer and was told that the problem with the EWS was infact just being dealt with as a 'campaign' as opposed to a 'recall'
Therefore the dealers were not required and therefore wouldn't contact the owners of affected bikes.
I managed to get mine in for a EWS change in less than 24hrs, so all credit to my dealer.
However the overall policy sucks
- IMHO all owners should of been contacted.
Just my 2p worth!

. Anyhow, seems BMW Geneva has over 150 recalls to do and they are sending out 10 a week as they obviously cant do them all at once. They were well helpful though and once i explained I'm planning a ride in 3 weeks they booked me in for next week.
(and of course i can ride feeling far more safe in the knowledge that bike should start every morning!!)
