The protest is about the cost of fuel; yet it is still cheaper in Ireland than it is on mainland UK.
I would support the same in the UK, the fuel companies and Gov are profiteering from it and it pushes up the cost of virtually all commodities.
Fuel companies raise prices on the forecourts within minutes of the barrel price changing but the fuel they currently have in the tanks was not bought at that price, yet when the barrel price drops it takes a week or more to change on the forecourt.
Gov don’t care as they coin it too, higher prices means more tax revenue for them. They could reduce the tax but better to blame the equally greedy oil companies for the issue than take any responsibility themselves.
It’s all by design and kept deliberately high, cease fire announced barrel price down yet this week has seen fuel prices go up again, £1.98 for diesel in my local garage today.
