As a lot of people have expressed an interest in WW2 sites in Europe I've found 118 :thumb

Now with 168 points after additions from araspitfire and bluepassat, thanks chaps :thumb2

Some of them have website links and comments if you look in their properties :)

A few more added from a file sent to me by ST4S :thumb2

3 are locations of German U-boat pens, where they sailed from out to try
and sink the Atlantic convoys.

1 is the 'Normandie' dock in St Nazaire (The site of what has to be one
of the greatest ever Special Forces raids.)

1 is at Pegasus Bridge, but it's not the bridge itself, it's the landing
spot of the first British glider on D-Day, a few yards away.

Camping - Sweden .gbd file?

Has anyone produced a file of Swedish campsites?

This is a good way to get lots of Free POI's...

Go here:
http://www.poihandler.com

You need to register... but pretty much all but the speed camera POI's are free... I just checked, and they have over 1000 campsites organised by type in Sweden...

Unfortunately POIHandler doesn't seem to support the Garmin 2610 (looking at the Supported Systems page).

Thanks to Whatton (I think it was) for posting the Norwegian Campsites as waypoints. Just after Sweden and Denmark now

With a bit of further research, you could find a program that would convert the POI handler files (they do a bunch of different kinds)... into something you could download into the 2610...

Ok... so I was bored.... Here's the first of a few Garmin files.

FYI, I downloaded the Sweden Campground waypoints in Google Earth Format, then used GPSBabel to convert them to Garmin gdb format.

ANVB (Dutch RAA) approved Campsites in Sweden

And more:

Al, you are a Garmin God!
I concede that I should be picking up the knowledge of how to do these myself but as I'm about to disappear to lovely Scandinavia I am much in your (and others here) debt for helping me out this time around.

I clearly now owe you beer :beerjug:

Great stuff and this will help with my trip to Ypres and the WW1 sites, thanks for all the hard work.

Castle Combe wrong

Heres a few UK Motor sport venues........

Never been to Castle Combe before, great thinks I just download this to the zumo and off we go. Except that Castle Combe is not here
N51 27.486 W2 06.966 (Middle of Chippenham)

Its Here
N51 29.667 W2 13.157 (5 bl**dy miles away)

where do I get speed camera overlay for a quest1 from?

Ideally free as it will have limited use - understand there's no sound ability when put on a quest1

Anyone know if these can be had with mobile sites included?

Thanks Rob

Thanks to Whatton I now have exhaustive supply of interesting and very useful waypoints on my new Zumo 550, the dogs numpties, thanks for that. It's the IT buffs like you willing to share your knowledge that keep people like me afloat, I can only hope someday that I can return the favour, thanks again.
