Hilltop Results on the LC

Yes I did show up and Geoff kindly explained to me exactly what he is doing, This does not make me a sceptic, just someone trying to understand how things work.
Now I know what and how it is being done, I can happily carry on along the path of Lambda offsets.

I suspect that all Geoff does is to redirect the processor to run his code (placed in another area of memory) and crudely chuck more fuel in to 'cure' the supposed lean running and ignore the lambda sensor so the 3-way catalytic converter becomes useless.

Result is unspecified increase in emissions and any official subsequent updates to fuelling by BMW will be ignored. None of this is clever, or sophisticated, or magical in any way at all, it's just going back to the way bikes were fuelled in the old days.

"Suspect"............ that's inspirational brilliance!

You think that's what he is doing on BSB bikes too? So - despite bikes not suffering from poor fuel consumption, and some bikes being verified on other dynos - you think its "crudely chucking more fuel" ?

Or - are you now trying a different tack? Say something controversial in the hope of luring Geoff out?

Oink-Oink-Oink!

If it was crudely chucking more fuel in then In the 2k I've done since the map I should be seeing a time least a little evidence of sooting on the remus can, I've also run a plug chop and nice and even and brown, so it's not over fuelling it is however running perfectly.

I fail to see why you are on a crusade to discredit the guy, have you no hobbies?

Really I think you'll find his map still uses the lambda sensor but you need to try a bike that's been done then You wouldn't use terms like crudely

The lambda sensor is necessary for the 3-way cat to work correctly (been doing some research) I think that re-mappers ignore it, which is why they often say ditch the cat. 3-way cats reduce NOx, which is a topical subject at the moment :) I think this is one reason they like to keep quiet on the subject of emissions - it is probably a bit of a grey area whether or not it is legal to modify a vehicle in such a way that emissions are increased - it is certainly the case in the USA.

Has he told you that he still uses the lambda sensor?

Why don't you call Geoff and ask him Engineer?

BTW - when I took my bike to an Independent Dyno facility (Brian Gray's place in High Wycombe) they tested it with no prior knowledge of what had been done. Their expert opinion after several runs was that (in their words) "we don't know what you've had done to this bike but the fuelling is absolutely spot on and there is nothing we could do to improve it"

I posted on here again in response to post #202, I forgot to include the quote, silly me, my forgetfulness brought the loons out of the woods again.

But not always. So that explains fook all ;)

So do you actually know if the lambda sensor is used or not, I have been told not - can you shed any light upon this, if so please do otherwise your posts are not in the slightest bit helpful to anyone.

Its my understanding that it is yes. But to be sure I know a man who does know........................Can you guess who it is yet ??????????
