Nicely balanced bike, with a bit of zip
Is 96bhp enough?
All of the road tests I've read suggest it's sufficient to get the job done with little difference to the 1190 in the lower rev range, knowing this and knowing the way you ride
I'd say it probably is, thinking of joining team evangelical Orange JB ?

Cap'n Slow
Nice bike, certainly well put together and KTM are chucking a great deal at it by way of a contribution/rate

More than enough for you ya northern monkey![]()

The thing I didn't like on the 1050 was the cost cutting of the bare alloy subframe and unpainted engine plus some cheaper plastics. Not sure the finish would look great after a winter or two.

Look at it this way,
You'll use 90% of the 95 BHP much easier than using 75% of the 150BHP for 70% of the time.
It's not about the power, it's about how you use it.
I know I bang on about my 950 all the time but it's lowly 100bhp is more than enough for me to to keep up with Giles on his 1190 in all but the fastest open stretches when way above 3 figures. if that's what you're looking for then spend the extra £5k on an 1190. If not then that 'little' 1050 seems like a cracking bike to me!
Giles - Am I right or am I right?

Plus your 950 is possibly quite a bit lighter too , especially compared to say a 1290 , which will make up some of the deficit anyway.
Unless you are two up and loaded on any bike 100bhp is plenty enough for the road .... full stop... IMHO![]()

That's a good shout. It then beg's the question, what's the difference in weight between a 950 / 1050 / 1190?
All dry weights :
950 Adventure 198kg
990 Adventure 209kg
1050 Adventure 212kg
1190 Adventure 212kg
1290 SA 229kg
Lastly but least :
950 SuperEnduro
190kgs !!! Which is why I suppose my SE feels so much quicker than my Adv950S felt.
