Bought myself a Advent 4123 netbook to use whilst travelling around.

Every time I turn it on it goes back to 0100hrs Sept 22 2008

I change it back to the proper time, asked it to time check with microsoft every so often, but it still steps back in time .

What else should I be looking at

and how to get it exchanged, if its new

Sounds like the bios battery on the motherboard is dead.

I bought one second hand from a mate of mine, excellent bit of kit with the added bonus of a built-in sim card slot so no need for dongles. Had no problems at all with mine so get them to exchange it for a new unit, not just the battery
