New to the fold

Hello to all. Just a quick post to introduce myself as a newbie!

Well, I've just aquired a Black 1997 R1100GS with ABS as my first intoduction to BMWs. Due to collect it on Thursday and I'm counting the seconds! Currenly riding a Thundercat, but I've been planning some touring trips this year and thought a GS was just what I needed. I'll be keeping the Tcat for the time being, but if I take to the BM as I think I might, It may have to go to make room. We'll have to see.

I changed from a Ducati 996, to an Adventure. I've not toured on the Adventure yet, but was all over Europe on the Duc. The one thing you'll (hopefully) miss is the attention from the boys in blue.

Thanks for the words of welcome. I'll no doubt be re posting soon with a whole host of newbie type questions so bear with me folks!

Lands End this weekend sounds appealing - especially as I'm doing John O'grotes (is that how you spell it?) later this year. However, probably a tad ambitious for my first full day with a new bike! Anyway - I'm otherwise engaged doing the Northants Police Bikesafe day at Silverstone on Sunday. Thanks for the invite though - maybe next time.
