In the middle of nowhere and running low on oil so topped up with the wrong sort of oil I have put mineral instead of semi synth in and need to get from Scotland to Cambridge!

Will I make it or will I damage the engine?

it'll make NO odds mate, the only oils that don't really mix are mineral and vegetable oils..that makes a mess....
Smei synth is exactly that..semi sythetic and semi mineral.... so a bit more mineral won't harm at all...

I always use mineral oil as I'm in the first 10000 'running in' miles on my bike

As stated mineral will do no harm at all

I ran out of oil in the middle of Romania with just about 2,000 miles on the clock since purchase. Had to sling a load of a mates 10W30 synth in (to about half full). I then topped it up with the proper mineral muck about 70miles further on when we found a petrol station. Never did mine any harm.
