Pointless electronics

Like it

Flipfly, I've read your posts and to a point agree with some of what you have said but at the end of the day the 'pointless' electronic aids BMW have the 'ability' to fit to the WC, are only on the options list.. You don't have to have them. If you are like the Engineer, who for all the right reasons wants a bike to be basic or like me and a few others, want a few bells and whistles. We can have them.

I'm not sure exactly how many variants or permeations there are of the bike ( apart from the 3 stock versions + the base and options)

Could we get that from Honda, Yamaha, Guzzi or Ducati etc etc..probably not.

So is your post.... Pointless ?

Just my 2p!

Like it you pay your money and make your choice I like the fact you can choose different options :thumb2

Electroncs a light hearted view Lol !!!

It seems to me that all the elctronics on new GS which I confess I happen to like, are pointless to most of you , as you spend so much time writing posts on this site, you would never have enough time to use them all anyway. Lol !!!!!!:Motomartin

I have to confess it's rather pleasant to be able to sit back, read all the endless bickering going back and forth between the two camps safe in the knowledge I'll never be able to afford an LC, "Toilet" or whatever else its gets called. Saves all those difficult decisions about what options boxes to tick!

Does provide some interesting entertainment though......:beerjug:

LED light

I have the Enduro version GS which has the standard lights with the optional LED day time riding light which is rectangular and I think it looks great also it fills the gap below the head lamp.

you get all the other options too like modes and cruise ect but the normal suspension.

I much prefer the look of your headlight

Well I reckon my new toilet is fine without most of that interfering crap taking over. Isn't motorcycling all about being just a little bit outgoing and living slightly less boring? My fondest memories are of surviving tricky situations by learning to read the road. I'm an old fart now and still enjoy riding the perfect corner now and again or mastering a nasty situation. Those of you that expect electronics to save your soft arses are in for a painful awakening. Care and attention will always be the way to a long and painless life.
Cruise control, heated grips are great and ABS may help me one day, though I will have ridden badly if it needs to activate.
VW here in oz are finding out the expensive way about overuse of electronc management when its interference alarms the driver, causing all sorts of funny things to happen. I sincerely hope that ASC and traction management will prove to be a positive for owners of the mighty toilet.

Well said sir!

BTW, that LED headlight in your avatar looks:barf

A reverse C looks .....................pointless:D

Oh, but when you see it in a rear view mirror, it looks like a 'C'...

I bet if YOU, wrote to BMW, they would add the missing letters....... Hahaha U....N....and T all look the same either way round.... Silly me...:blast

Then you'd be a Tosser riding around on a CNUT:bounce1

I wouldn't ever buy a WC GS

Looks a little like an afterthought to me. However regardless of the ancillary equipment chosen, for me the overall bike is a step forward on the previous GS :beerjug:
