Hi,
I have a 2017 R1200gs Exclusive with approx 14300mls on the clock. This is a replacement for the same bike that was stolen recently. I am currently having a problem with the factory fitted alarm on the bike (previous bike was fine).
My bike is parked up and locked in my garage and the alarm is active. It has a cover over it and is not touched when parked up.
In the last 4 weeks the alarm is activating on it's own as if someone is either tampering or trying to move the bike. This occurs randomly, early hours, middle of the day, etc?
Does anyone know what might be the problem?
I don't get any fault codes when I turn the ignition on and everything is fine other than this. I have it connected to an Optimate trical charger, but this worked fine with my previous bike so don't suspect that it is causing a problem.

Thanks if you take the time to answer.

The alarm is also set up to activate if someone disconnects the motorycle battery. Perhaps the alarm is being activated by the voltage transition by the charger cycling on and off. Just a thought.

If i recall when you deactivate the the alarm, the number of flashes from the indicators is a telltale as to what circuit/ sensor triggered the alarm

Im guesiing the mandbook would be the best place ti start

I would suspect a failing battery/weak cell. Most bike electronics hate low or varying voltages.

Thanks guys for your replies.
I have currently taken the bike off charge whilst in the garage to see if that makes any difference.
