Replacement forks

Addy,

No offense taken. I meant that I missed the tank like reliability of the 1150ADV. I had 25k on it, with not one issue.

My first 140 miles was city riding with the SM wheel kit. I immediately heard the clunk upon leaving the dealers lot. Thought nothing of it. Rode around town...(VERY rough Cobblestone streets)...clunk, clunk, clunk. No other way to describe it. Pulled in clutch to coast over the bumps and the noise is absolutely coming from the fork.

I have since ridden another 150 miles with even a few laps at Roebling Road. The bike is insane! I love it. No way I would trade it back for my 1150...My forks were not touched as far as the adjusters and it was waaaaaaay too soft. Rolled into the pits to make some adjustments, off the tarmac and onto the grass where I was staged and what do I hear?... clunk.

If that's not the fork, what else could it be? Looking for the infinite wisdom of all HP owners!

Also, until I replace the airshock with a real boinger, Is it ok to fill it with a compressor? That hand pump sucks!

Cheers,

Jason

Jason,

Me too i noticed the clunk (among all other clungs:)),34.000Km back during my first ride. When i was at 10000Km i complained to my dealer, told him i think it's the steering bearing but he suggested it's probably a low forks failure and we should give the forks to a specialized technician to see.
He took them off and gave to the best for the job man in my country.I was pretty sure it was the head bearings but since i was already reading all the stuff here about the forks failures and replacements i liked the idea.So the forks were turned to pieces and examined and the diagnosis was :nenau nothing,no problem, everything ok.
Next,my dealer put the forks on,forgot to do anything about the head bearing and i lived with it until recently that the situation became unbearable, even dangerous. He eventually changed the head bearing during my last 30000km service.Of course the clung is still here although not so much :)
The AIR SHOCK is not bad IF and only if it is PRECISELY adjusted to your weight and riding style.Pump it up with anything, doesn't matter.Finding the right pressure for you will make your front suspension behave much better as well.

Sure it's a noisy bike but...:D
