Hi All

my brand new baby (R1200 GS TE Red colour)

with just 200 miles on the clock has been stolen today in broad daylight from Swansea university campus :(:(:(:(:(:( with plates R44KTA

Sorry to hear that. My lads mtb's were stolen from the bay campus. They have cctv there; have you spoke with the security/site managers (office located at the bottom of the tower thing)

Spoken to security. Apparently the CCTV which is directed at the car park does not work :(

Surprisingly, neither were the units covering the bike sheds, despite locking the bikes directly beneath a supposed camera. Campus has only been open a year Ffs:blast

Good luck with yours and hope it gets recovered.

Really sorry to hear this - hope the scumbags who nicked it rot in hell...!

Wankers , suspect someone may be telling someone else when bikes of value turn up???

i feel your pain. No worse feeling than seeing your bike has been taken by scumbags. Seems like the gs is the bike all discerning bike thieves like these days.

That sucks... really sorry for you.:comfort

Wouldn't surprise me if there is someone on the inside making some calls.... :nenau. Weird that the camera facing the parking area doesn't work as well (very convenient)

Really hope you get it back and that the douchebags get smacked about for there bother. :rocketwho

Oh no, that's really bad news, sounds like the thieves are aware that the cameras are not working.

I'm so sorry for how really pissed off you must be feeling at the moment.

Fingers crossed you get it back, ...undamaged.

Did you have any additional security that was bypassed? Chain, tracker?

It could possibly be very nearby, parked up on the street while they wait and see if there's a tracker fitted before moving it on.

Bastards!
It's a horrible feeling, churning guts and anger, worst of all is the feeling of hoping that it will turn up, Knowing inside, it won't.

Your possibly getting fobbed off with the cctv coverage, most commercial insurances arnt covered unless their cctv is working..
They can't or won't respond for info except for a police request for cctv.

Hope that helps.. 👍

Can't do much then.

Will call the police tomorrow and check if they were able to get cctv images

If it is a public authority ie college/university. Either do a FOI or a Subject access request under dpa as it has been capturing your images.

You'll need to be quick or you may find that it's been overwritten !

Could you imagine outcry if a student was sexually assaulted and the cctv wasn't working, less than a year old.

Doesn't it come with a guarantee !
