Really sorry to hear that. Fwiw I think there is a section under the Data Protection Act that covers CCTV. There needs to be signage and if I am not mistaken cameras have to be in good working order and produce clear images. May have dreamt it but don't think so.

Really hope you are lucky and get it back in good order. Also I don't believe the cctv is not working , that is too much of a convenience for some body.

shit news ......any CCTV not on the campus, that might have picked anything up ? if they pushed the bike out of the area to a waiting van or something, there me be some vid evidence on another camera in a different area.....lowest of the low these type of people ..

Gutted for you. It's getting worse out there. I was cleaning my gs on my drive on Saturday and two shady scrotes were taking to much interest...
You need a sub 1k bike to use if leaving unattended. Theft is going to get worse. I have not seen a police car for over two months. Thieves are having a field day which drives up insurance cost for all of us.

Hope you don't get it back....it'll never be or feel the same. On the bright side, you'll get another new one from the insurance.

Sorry to hear about this. If it's any consolation, the police have been carrying out raids last night on several moped gangs, so hopefully these thefts should start to slow down.

Sorry to hear and so close to me as well. Makes your blood boil!!

I am SO sorry to hear this. I work in another Uni and if I was you I should get onto your Student Union and create merry F.... E mail your VC.
Can you get a friendly tutor to email the Uni staff and point this out and question the whole reliability of the Security in place. Competence, fit for purpose etc. There will of course be 'disclaimers' everywhere but, as a previous post points out, if this was harassment of a student and the CCTV was off or not available then there would be hell to pay....
It won't bring your bike back but it might just make them sit up and take notice... Good luck and again I feel for you.. Graham

Well said, that man. Good advice in my opinion. What's the entire point of CCTV if it doesn't work.

Ok. So the police got back to me. Saying that they can't get cctv images as there is no cctv in the area where I parked in the campus. So there is not much they can go on. And it's " waiting and hoping it turns up somewhere " 😢😢😢

Collecting new GS fairly soon. Makes me more certain I will have a Biktrac fitted and to hell with annual sub., though no system is infallible.

That really really sucks....

This isn't the time or the place, but I think we are fast moving into trackers being necessary. This kind of sh!t is just depressing.

RBW.

Get a Roadlok as well, that'll slow them down.:thumb

Did you get yours from the US?

Yep. It's a great bit of kit. Looking at it, it would be very tricky to angle grind it off, as you'd need to get at it from underneath, and the gap between the pin and the brake disc is only a few mm. If someone tried to get it off, they'd almost certainly cause a lot of damage to the bike, and probably make it impossible to ride away.
