Don't be such a dick! No modern bike, unless ridden full throttle to full brakes all the time, should have bare rear pads after 3800 miles! Another example, my RT had front and rear wear at 10% at 6000 miles service - also linked braking ('partially' - whatever the f*** that's supposed to mean)
It's a very appropriate warning for riders who are used to having their rear pads outlast their ownership of a particular model of bike. So well done OP and thanks! Baja - go fold yourself back into your Power-Ranger suit and wheelie your minimoto/pocket-rocket up someone else's arse!![]()
What he said plus, the average GS rider, goes on tour, that's a little bit further than the pocket rocket crowd's 2 mile trip to Tesco or local greasy spoon. If your average European Tour is 2500 -3000 miles, there ain't a lot of brake pad left for either side, or in your world to go on tour, do you have to change pads to go?
So grow up, it ain't the £30 quid, it is sensible consideration on a bike that's supposed to be unstoppable go anywhere, unstoppable could be true with no brakes.
