Brakes a linked so you wouldn't expect having the same mileage out of them because you Do NOT control their wear fully as on previous bikes.
OP might be using brakes a bit too much or drag them and they will wear obviously faster, you guys scream outrage even thou none of you know the reason or have an issue with your own.
I am absolutely in awe of your skills and touring ability. I am only doing 32000miles a year half in the city , half touring.
Most of the time I do not have to change brake pads.
My previous bike done 70 000 miles in 27 months and I changed pads on the rear 5 times.
It wasn't the point to state how long they should last but to comment on exagerated WARNING thread that probably have nothing to it.
I like how you guys described my LC as pocket rocket but I bought GS and have no idea what you are talking about.
Even if my previous bike ZZR14 was your pocket rocket, I would like to know how with your enormous experience is it by you not a great touring bike

I personaly know 4 GS riders , non of them does more than 5000 miles a year and they certinally do not tour much , so your statistic is flawed by 75%
