Had no problems with EWS so far and hopefully the new one is a final solution![]()

You can, if you ask if you may.
Was this a question or a statement?

its the sept 57 gsa ,the not very fast white one.at preasentHI ALL ,yes it has happened once again .loveley weekend at assen tt and a very good ferry crossing to hull ,just too be met on the ferry deck this moring by the EWS good moring greeting ,i would just like to thank the very strong foreigon member of staff that pushed my bike me and a weeks worth of camping stuff of the ferry ,its now on its way to barry robinsons of york for repair ,any idea how long this take to do.

Had mine done today at Coopers (used to be Mill at Boldon)
They were expecting a rush on people wanting it done so they ordered a few as soon as it was known the 'campaign' was about to be launched. Booked it in midddle of last week.
When the job was done i was informed that my front shock was on a recall as well. Parts need to be ordered from Germany, but hopefully getting done next week.
Have you got rid of the Pan then Colin?
(By the way, nice to see an old friend on here)

My dealer SBW told me mine isn't one of the bikes that needs doing, its registered June 06? However today whilst changing up from 2nd to 3rd at around 6k revs the bike just cut out completely, no dash lights or anything working. Blank computer screen. Made a quick grab for the ignition key and turned on and off a couple of times and it switched back on with the EWS warning and bulb failure showing, both of which cleared. Is this the EWS problem?

My March 08 GSA suffered EWS failure today at 1505 miles. Not very impressed that it broke down and had to be relayed but even less impressed that BMW clearly know there is a problem with this component and can't be bothered to do a recall. BMW Assist responded very promptly and interestingly the driver said he done a similar recovery last week.
Come on BM surely you can do better than this!
Yep - according to the dealer that the bike has been relayed to, there is no recall on this part and I shouldn't believe what I read on the internet! Bike is going to be off the road for a week as the workshop is fully booked.
I have had no notification of a recall from BM and the bike had it's first service about 6 weeks ago so surely they would have done any recall work at that time...
