OK lets try a slightly different question.
Is there anyone on the Nemezis list that has to have a replacement, but is still waiting to be notified by their dealer?
Yes, I'm on the list above and I've not yet been notified and have just started having problems
This weekend I've been on a trip to Ayr with some mates. I had the 'EWS!' failure last night after I'd filled up with fuel at ASDA, in Ayr, the bike just wouldn't start, I made several attempts switching ignition off and on. On the off chance that it may have been caused by interference in and around the filling station I pushed the bike 200 yards into the car park and it fired first time. I tried switching it off and on a few times and each time it fired up, so thought my assumption about interference was correct and breathed a sigh of relief.
However, the relief was short lived, on returning back to where we were staying I tried it again and the error reoccured.
I tried it several times and more often than not it failed to start, though if left for a short while it would generally start up. Realising that, with a full tank, if I chose a direct route home (to Lancaster) I should just about make it, I decided to leave well alone and in the morning, once loaded and suited up, give it another try, and if it started head straight home, non-stop, otherwise it would be a trip home courtesy of BMW Assist.
Well this morning, after breakfast, I got ready, switched igition on and damn! EWS! error. Gave it a second go after a few minutes and this time it fired up, so jumped aboard and headed for home.
Just need to get it fixed now.
I think the fault actually happened for the first time earlier in the day whilst waiting for some of our group to refuel at an Esso garage, but at the time I didn't check the display, I just switched off and on again and it fired up.
On this forum you hear of so many that have failed on garage forecourts it makes me wonder if mobile phone transmitters, that are sometime located in garage signage, blows something in the EWS antenna. Sometimes causing it to fail completely or, as in my case, work intermittently.
Mmm, I feel a poll coming on.
