:eek: How come doing an emergency stop when a car pulled out in front of me I pulled an unintentional rolling stoppie? Shouldn't be possible with ABS should it?

ABS switched off?
 
Weight transfer forwards? ABS can't stop you shifting forwards, transferring weight forwards thus lifting the tear of the bike?
 
Might you have travelled further forwards with abs operating with both wheels down ?
 
I seem to recall that the manual does say something along the lines of ABS will not necessarily stop a stoppie

I managed one on a wet road. Why would ABS prevent it ?
 
It was a rolling stoppie. So the front wheel was still turning, why would the ABS make a difference? And congratulations for not falling off.
 
I've never knowingly done a stoppie but the forks don't dive so it might be more common than we think.
 
If the stoppie were done without any use of the rear brake, the back wheel would probably be spinning at the same speed as when it left the ground. As the front wheel slowed under braking, I would expect the ABS to note that the front wheel is slower than the back, suggesting it was starting to slip and therefore activate the front wheel ABS preventing a stoppie.

If you have any rear brake on, then the back wheel will slow rapidly as it lifts from the road. the ABS will see the BACK wheel slowing compared to the front and will activate the REAR abs, leaving the front alone to perform the stoppie.

My GS (all with all the other 1200's?) has linked brakes so I would expect the rear wheel to stop turning

The lack of screech from a locked up front is what makes me think it was a rolling stoppie. Of course I rode off as if I pull stoppies all the time and checked my pants when I got to work :thumb
 
If you were below 5mph there is no ABS function
