Trainspotting!

Something just looks classically “right” about the proportions of a Black Five engine and tender.

Oddly enough, I can imagine the sound of them in my head steaming past.
 
What a fabulous bit of engineering. When you see one, it's not just the sight but the sound and the wonderful smell... sensory overload.

BTW what defines that as a Black 5?

Most numerous* class of steam loco in the uk, half a dozen different builders, quick enough for passenger duty, sufficient grunt for most freight. One of William Stanier’s best.
